Business trade

Noakhali has long been neglected and backward in terms of industry. Although the district has a tradition of public resources, it goes without saying that there are no public or private initiatives in industrialization. Many residents of this district have set up large scale industries in different parts of the country. But the people of this district are wandering around the country and abroad in search of work. Despite so much reluctance and neglect, some factories have been set up. The following is a brief introduction to some of the heavy industry establishments and some potential fish farming projects in the future:
01. Delta Jute Mills Ltd.
Greater Noakhali Traditional Delta Jute Mills Ltd. was established in 1982. The mill was nationalized in 1982. Capital of Rs. 5 crore which is equivalent to 50,000,000 ordinary shares at the rate of Rs. 10 each. Milkhana was started with an area of ​​60 acres. About 5,000 workers have the opportunity to work in the factory. The mill has now reopened after a long hiatus due to the complexity of the owner-worker relationship. The mill is currently being privately owned.

02. Habib Vegetable Products Ltd.

Alhaj Habibur Rahman, the founder of Messrs. Al Amin Bread and Biscuits Factory, was inspired by the hard work and efforts of his eldest son Mr. Anwar Mirza and his other brothers Mr. Sarwar Mirza, Mr. Attar Mirza, Mr. Aziz Ullah and Mr. Afzali Messrs. Habib Vegetable Products Ltd. Initially financed by the bank and with a capital of around Tk 12 crore, including its own funds, the state-of-the-art edible oil refinery and plant production plant of state-of-the-art technology in West Germany is located on about 5 acres of land. The project, which is capable of producing about 54,000 tonnes of oil a year, has been in production since 1986. At present, this large company employs 300 workers and is making a huge contribution to the development of the national economy including solving the unemployment problem of the district. After the death of Chairman Alhaj Habibur Rahman, his successor, Vice Chairman Mr. Sarwar Mirza, Managing Director Mr. Afzal Mirza supervised the Board of Directors. Although the production response has continued since then, it has not yet reached the desired goal.

03. Al Amin Bread and Scoots Ltd.

Messrs. Al Amin Bread and Biscuits Factory was established in 1986 at Maijdi Bazar, the center of Noakhali district. Inspired by Alhaj Mr. Habibur Rahman, the owner of the once traditional Mohammadi Biscuit Factory and the Mostafa Biscuit Factory at Chaumuhani Bazar, located on the west side of the main road of the district town including Maijdi Bazar, his eldest son Mr. Anwar Mirza initiated the project with his own money. Production of the 1st unit of Messrs. Al Amin Bread and Biscuit Factory started in 1986. Built on modern technology on a property of about 2 acres, the factory is currently producing 3 units. Capable of producing approximately 20 tons of various high quality biscuits per day, the factory is making a huge contribution to the economic crisis of thousands of workers and about 10,000 families in the district. The demand for biscuits produced by this factory is increasing day by day as it has gained fame all over the country. Mr. Sarwar Mirza, Mr. Attar Mirza and Mr. Aziz Ullah were among the other assistants in the project.

Mr. Md. Anwar Mirza, Chairman of Al-Amin Group, leased 33 acres of land from the government at Binodpur village on the outskirts of Noakhali district town and first set up a plan to set up Messrs. Farhana Textile Mills Ltd. Later, he changed the project plan and set up a common drink and factory in Uttu Sahane. Uttu project is currently underway. This has provided employment opportunities to thousands of unemployed youths and women in Noakhali district. At the same time, the organization is making a significant contribution to the national economy.
04. Globe Agro Fisheries Ltd.

This project is one of the largest in the coastal area of ​​Noakhali. The project has started work by digging 6 ponds on about 220 acres of land. Mr. Md. Hartan Rashid and Mr. Md. Mamunur Rashid are the main initiators of this project established in Char Bagga of Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali district.

The idea of ​​those who are experienced in fish farming is that if these projects are fully implemented and successful in commercial production, the people of Noakhali will be financially very prosperous and all these bright potential projects will make a huge contribution to the national economy.
05. Al-Amin Fisheries Ltd.

This project is one of the largest in the coastal area of ​​Noakhali. The project has started work by digging hundreds of ponds on 300 acres of property. Mr. Anwar Mirza is the main initiator of this project which was set up near Hatia Steamer Ghat in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali district. The project is making a huge contribution to the national economy by producing fish.
